• Sunday, August 17 - Combined UMYF
• Snack Supper (Pizza) at 5:30 in the Cafe, followed by a 30-Hour Famine based UMYF in the Sr. High Room
• Sunday, August 24 - Normal UMYF
• Jr. High Youth - 4:30 - 6:00 in the Jr. High Room
• Snack Supper - 6:00 - 6:30 in the Cafe
• Sr. High Youth - 6:30 - 8:00 in the Sr. High Room
• Friday - Sunday, August 29-31 - 30 Hour Famine
• Will be working on a service involving food on Saturday for lunch
• Need parents/adults willing to serve as counselors
• Preparing for Front Porch Service on Aug. 31
• 2 night lockin at church + friends = fun
• Sunday, August 31 - Front Porch Youth Service
• Communion and breakfast before the service to break our fast
• Will be leading a 30-Hour Famine based service with a guest CCM band!

• FALL RETREAT!!! - Tentatively set for Oct. 17-19 - Details to come next week!
• Pumpkin Roll locking/fundraiser - November 14-15
• Youth Progressive Christmas Dinner - Dec. 14

I know this is short notice but we WILL be holding the 30-Hour Famine, August 29-31 in the Ministry Center.  If you want to participate or are just curious, please come to youth this upcoming Sunday so you can get the details.  Don’t forget to feel free to bring a friend!

After the famine, we’ll be leading the Front Porch Service after a nice big breakfast while sharing our experiences from the weekend.  We’re working on a guest worship band to lead us in music….More details on that to come soon!

This past Monday, the Trustees passed a motion put forth by myself and Pastor Tom to offer the Sr. High Room to the Young Adult Ministry in order to be good stewards in Christ and reach out to other groups of the church.  The committee the approved the "multi-purpose room" or "youth activity room" to the new Sr. High room!  This coming Sunday will be the last in our current room and after youth Sunday night, we’ll move what we need into the new room!

I hope everyone had a great summer!  Coming next Sunday, August 10, we’ll kick off our first UMYF of the 2008-2009 school year with food and planning for the rest of the year.  Come out and let us know what YOU want to do this year!  We’ll also be re-establishing the youth council, so if you want your voice to be heard, please come out.

Next Sunday, August 3rd, we’ll be heading to the Smokies game with a free postgame concert by Barlow Girl!  Tickets are $11 and must be reserved by August 1.  Let Michael know if you would like to come or you can sign up on the sign-up sheet at the welcome center at the church.  If we have enough people, we’ll take the bus but if you come on the bus, expect to stay for the concert.  The game starts at 5 pm and we’ll leave the church around 3.  Hope to see you there!
